Who are We and Why these Materials?
Red Chair Movement is led by Piet and Ina van Walsem. We are avid believers who have traveled all over the world, especially in Eastern Europe, CIS, (former Soviet Union) Middle East and Asia.
We want to fulfill the commission God has given us to speak about the Kingdom of God and demonstrate it in the places where God has sent us and still sends us.
We learned and applied the principles behind this study in seven countries / regions. By God’s grace and powerful action of His Spirit, we have seen the wonderful results when you speak of and demonstrate the Kingdom of God. The principles are the foundations of the discipleship movements that have arisen in these areas / countries. Through this we saw the impact in families, work, church, business, care, and the social environment. People in these countries were transformed through the teaching of the Kingdom of God and their encounters with that God.
Why?
God the Father wants every person to have a healthy identity, to be loved, and to have a home. Now is the time for you to find the Father and come home to that Father.
How does that happen? We want to be like the one to which the name Christian refers: Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus came to earth to give God the Father a “face”. As RCM we want to do what Jesus did: make God visible in this time. It is still God’s plan that Christians make visible, in word and deed, the love of the Father for every person. As members of the Body of Christ, we are His hands, His feet, His eyes, and His heart. If all is well, He will work through us in the world. On the one hand, we want God’s presence to be visible in us, in our relationships, and our meetings. We want to be a big home where there is love and trust. This means being a place where people come to recover, a place where people are built up in their self-worth, and where people are trained to do the same for others.
Red Chair Movement wants to provide:
•Training of people in small groups, Ekklesias who gather in their homes to study God’s word; here people look to one another, and support, comfort, and encourage one another.
•Training schools where our leaders serve to train and coach people to become disciples of God the Father and Jesus Christ.
•The training program has three phases
Follow
Disciple
Serve
Follow is the first part of the training on how to become a follower of Jesus.
•What is the Kingdom of God?
•Who is the God of that Kingdom?
•How do you get into that Kingdom?
Disciple is the second part that trains you to be a disciple and disciple others.
•Who am I in the Kingdom of God?
•How do you walk in the Kingdom of God?
•Principles of the Kingdom of God
Serve is the third part that teaches you leadership principles.
•I am
•Relationships in the Kingdom
•Servant leaders in the Kingdom
•Ekklesia
•Healing and Liberation in the Kingdom
